For a long time LTE was not available at Congstar, but now at least one tariff is moving in this direction: Congstar Homespot offers 20 GB per month - with restrictions.
The "Homespot" tariff is a pure data tariff, which will offer 20 Mbit/s downstream via the Telekom LTE network. In contrast to the previous Congstar voice rates, which LTE only unofficially LTE seems to be directly part of the new offer.
Essential restriction: the use is only possible in a defined area. A change of this area will be possible, but will cost a good 20,- EURO. In addition, there are reports that use is only possible in the LTE network - UMTS and EDGE connections are probably not supported, the official Press release does not go into this further. There are no restrictions on use - apart from a volume of only 20 GB: VoIP and Instant Messaging are explicitly allowed in contrast to other tariffs.
What remains interesting is whether Congstar now at some point gets the green light to officially offer the LTE network of Telekom in the remaining tariffs as well. For contracts in which it works, the LTE performance is very pleasant despite the throttling to 7.2 Mbit/s, as the latencies in particular are significantly lower. With 20 Mbit/s, it is certainly possible to use the Internet pleasantly if reception is sufficient.
