Anyone using a Vodafone Callya prepaid card will sooner or later stumble upon the limited recharging options. But one can easily top up by bank transfer without having to use the service of Klarna ("Sofortüberweisung"), Paypal or a credit card.
Klarna has so far managed without any scandals, but in some cases the banks prohibit third parties from providing access data for online banking. Moreover, not everyone is comfortable allowing a company to access their own account.
The solution is simple and also presented in the official Vodafone forum by moderatorsVodafone offers the possibility to transfer any amount of money by indicating the phone number as reason for payment. This will then be credited to the corresponding prepaid card.
A standing order with e.g. 10,-€ per month for the Vodafone account data thus fulfils the purpose of a "comfort top-up" - somewhat incomprehensible why Vodafone itself does not offer a reasonable SEPA direct debit procedure. on the other hand, prepaid cards are of course of interest above all for customers who may not have sufficient account coverage - in this case, additional fees for failed direct debits would be incurred.
