This weekend FreeNAS 8.3.0 RELEASE-p1 has been released, which should mainly fix bugs in FreeNAS 8.3.0. The most important bug that was fixed is that instead of the nginx-Welcome-Screen, the GUI is now definitely coming. As an improvement, there are only traditional Chinese characters to choose from for the console. Other than that, the features of the 8.3.0 version of FreeNAS, which is based on FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p3 and therefore brings ZFS v28, remain. Plugins and the plugin jail are still included, of course - an existing FreeNAS 8.2.0-p1 plugin jail does not need to be upgraded.
The download of FreeNAS 8.3.0-RELEASE-p1 is available from FreeNAS Sourceforge page possible. There are also different plugins available (64-bit & 32-bit), including minidlna for FreeNASfor download. I myself will stay with FreeNAS 8.2.0-p1 for now, after the System based on a HP Microserver N36L is running very smoothly right now.
