Freenas 8.2 Beta 3 with new plugin structure

On April 19th the 3rd beta for FreeNAS 8.2 was released, which brings a new plugin structure. This structure should now remain stable, so that plugins can be used after FreeNAS updates without adjustments. It is still not suitable for production systems, but if you want to write your own plugins, it is now time to take a closer look. According to release notes, there are ready plugins for Bittorrent, DLNA/uPNP (for this there are also plugins available with FreeNAS 8.0.4 MM already a solution) as well as iTunes, which can already be installed in the beta.

With FreeNAS 8.2 there are also new features for ZFS integration and improvements to the user interface. FreeNAS reaches the level of version 0.7.x, which already included more multimedia features and is not as purely designed for NAS use as FreeNAS 8.0.2. Whoever wants to try FreeNAS 8.2 Beta 3, can download it from the website of the FreeNAS project.
