But Android 2.3 for HTC Desire?

With the HTC Desire, there is currently confusion about whether the device gets "gingerbread" on Android 2.3 or hangs on Android 2.2. While yesterday it was said that there was not enough memory to install Android 2.3 with HTC Sense, today there was a contrary message. However, it remains open when the update will be released, originally announced by HTC in late June, which would only be a few days away - branded devices usually receive their updates even later.

Origin of the confusion was a misunderstanding between the development department and the press office - nevertheless it scared the community, as there are always manufacturers who do not supply their not very old devices with new Android versions. Also the opening of the bootloader promised by HTC, with which community versions such as CyanogenMod can be installed, has not been implemented yet - maybe this will be done with the upcoming update.
