Steve Jobs: If you want porn, buy an Android phone

Steve Jobs has commented on applications that are rejected in the Appstore because they provide pornographic content: "Folks who want porn can buy and [sic] Android phone."("People who want porn can buy an Android phone").

Apparently Apple wants to keep its store clean - with the argument that children and young people could also download porn. Although there are age clues, they are very easy to confirm (and to deal with).

Sure, hardcore porn doesn't have to be downloadable everywhere, but maybe an age verification for mobile applications is about time - or simply not giving kids an iPhone. The complete story is available at Techcrunch.

  1. Yeah, yeah, nice populist statement. But Mr Jobs should remember that porn has already decided the battle between VHS and Betamax. And the technically better standard has not prevailed.
