More than half of the Android devices run with 2.1

Like wired.com reportedly, 50% of the accesses to the Android Market fall on Android 2.1, about 25% each on Android 1.5 and 1.6 - so either the manufacturers have released updates for their devices or the customers have switched to newer devices.

But the problem of the segmented market has not become smaller because of this - there are still three different, very large blocks within the Android software version. For software developers, this development does not make it easy, because tests and resources have to be used for all three versions, if one does not want to lock out a quarter of the customers.
