Apparently there will also be exclusive deals for the upcoming Android 3.0 tablets. Telekom, for example, has announced that the Motorola Xoom will be available only from the Bonn-based company from April onwards - for 699.95€ (although it is still unclear whether with or without a contract). It is also not yet clear whether there will be a Net- or SIM-Lock, technically the possibilities would probably be there.
This puts the price at about the same level as the US market, where the Xoom is offered for USD 800. At the Cebit, interested parties can try out the tablet at the Telekom stand - in April it will be available for purchase. How the market for tablets will develop is still open - whether other manufacturers such as Samsung or HTC will conclude exclusive deals with network operators is also still open.
