iOS users are always looking for a jailbreak for their device. Now the German expert Stefan Esser has apparently developed an iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak, but does not want to publish it for free.
As he was in a Interview on Heise.de there is no fundamental right to jailbreak. He sees successful jailbreak more as a business model, since companies offering security checks for iOS apps depend on a jailbreak.
For normal users, there is little hope of a jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 - at least it is now proven that jailbreak is possible in principle. Other groups can now invest more time themselves and perhaps publish a jailbreak themselves, which is then available to all users.
Personally, I also think it's a bit of a shame that the jailbreak is not being released - maybe iOS 8 will provide a faster solution, but of course Apple will get better and better at avoiding security holes over time.
