FreeNAS 8.2.0 Beta 4: further bugfixing of the plugins

FreeNAS 8.2.0 introduces the possibility to install plugins that run in their own environment ("plugin jail"). Since this is a completely new feature, which also means deep system intervention, development takes correspondingly longer. Now the fourth beta of the FreeBSD-based NAS software has been released, with the addition of the ability to update plugins and upgrade the plugin "jail".

Functions are available as plugin, which so far had to be configured manually. For example minidlna to transfer media via DLNA to Playstation 3 or Apple TV (with XMBC) to distribute. Also: Bittorrent and iTunes, more plugins are in development. So far I did not dare to HP N36L-NAS is only possible after FreeNAS 8.2.0 is final (or preferably 8.2.1 is released).

If you want to try FreeNAS 8.2.0-BETA4 (always keep data security in mind, it's a BETA!) you can download it from the FreeNAS website.
