Android 2.2 with tethering and WiFi hotspot?

Apparently Google does not only want to set an example against Apple with Flash in Android 2.2 (Froyo), but also wants to add two more exciting functions: Tethering (using the cell phone as a modem) and a WiFi hotspot function, with which other devices can share the Android cell phone's internet connection via WLAN. These two functions should come with Android 2.2 (Froyo). The only question that remains is whether the network operators will be able to charge money for this functionality or even disable it completely - this feature will certainly not arouse enthusiasm, considering the precautions that T-Mobile has taken to make money with tethering on the Iphone.

For Android as a platform, it would be perfect, of course, and would overtake Apple and Iphone OS in all important points: multitasking, tethering, sharing the Internet connection, Flash.
