As Acer has written in a Facebook message, the UMTS version of the Acer Iconia A500 is that 501, on its way to trade - by ship. The prices for the A501 start at a quite cheap 470,-€ for the 16GB with UMTS - at the main competitor Apple there is only the WiFi version of the iPad 2 for this.
Thus, Acer offers one of the cheapest Android 3.x tablets with an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip. The equipment can compete with the devices from Samsung and Motorola: 1,024 MB RAM, 2x 1 GHz clock, 1280×800 pixel resolution as well as Android without additional surfaces. One can only hope that the ship with the tablets will safely reach the German market.
