What has long been taken for granted by Android users is only possible on "iDevices" with a jailbreak. For example, this is the only way to install apps from alternative sources. After so far only older Apple devices have been able to do this, it is now also possible for the current iPad 2.
The jailbreak and installation is really very simple: jailbreakme.com click on "Install" and wait a short time. After that both the jailbreak and Cydia are installed. This solution is a so called untethered jailbreak, which will remain even after a reboot. Prerequisite is iOS 4.3.3.
The jailbreak can be removed with the recovery via iTunes. May you forgive me the "look over the edge of my plate" 😉
