The market researchers of the NPD Group see a further milestone for Android OS reached: in the first quarter of 2010 more devices with the free operating system are said to have been sold in the USA than devices with Apple's Iphone OS. The sales of the Ipad will probably not be included in this statistic yet, this could still change the result.
Nevertheless, it's nice to see that the more open system is much better off than the island that Apple has almost turned into a fortress. Let's hope that the market remains interesting and that the manufacturers don't rest on their laurels. The update problem, which has already been discussed here, still remains topical...
